Hi!

My name is Charlie (they/he). I’m a PhD Candidate at the University of Exeter’s Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, specialising in late-antique Jewish magical praxis. I’m also a member of the Centre for Magic Studies and Esotericism.

I wanted to create a small, informal space on the internet to share my interests (be they academic or not), engage with people and generally have a lovely time! And that’s what this blog is – a space separate to the university where I can write about things in this weird, wonderful world which happen to catch my eye.

Having said that, I’ve also included my academic work here so that folks can get an idea of my professional interests alongside my not-so-professional ones.
